Quebec Business Classes

Under the Canada-Québec Accord, the Gouvernement du Québec and the Government of Canada share jurisdiction of immigration. Québec operates its own immigrants.

All business people must be selected by Québec and must plan to settle in Québec. To be selected, they must satisfy the Gouvernement du Québec’s selection requirements and criteria in order to obtain a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ - Québec selection certificate) before you apply for your immigration visa.

There are three immigration programs for business people:

1. Investor
2. Entrepreneur
3. Self-employed worker

What is a Québec selection certificate

Québec is responsible for the selection of business immigrants who wish to settle in its territory. To be selected, a candidate must meet the requirements of the business programs by submitting an application for a CSQ. If selected, you will receive, the official immigration document, a CSQ, issued by the Gouvernement du Québec.

Who issues a permanent resident visa

The Government of Canada is responsible for the admission of applicants. To be admitted, candidates must submit an application for permanent resident visa. They, and their family members who may or may not be accompanying the applicant, must also pass the required medical examination and security checks by the Citizenship and Immigration of Canada. If the applicant or any of their family members is inadmissible on medical, criminal or security grounds, an application for permanent residence is not accepted, even if the candidate has received a CSQ.

Who?is selected for interview by the Gouvernement du Québec

All applicants may be called to a selection interview by the government of Québec following the overall examination of the file.
